Consumer Marketing Intern

Position Summary We are looking for a college student to work in our Consumer Marketing department. The student will work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year; full time during the summer and school breaks. Briggs & Stratton offers students a competitive wage, a business-casual environment, and an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience. This position will start in May 2015. Candidates should be actively enrolled in a 4-year bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university. No graduates or summer-only applicants will be considered. Job Responsibilities Work with outside agencies on a variety of communications programs Update and track communication expenditures and budgets Coordinate e-newsletter projects with outside suppliers, edit copy and locate images Work with internal groups to track metrics on all online initiatives Assist in product photoshoots and videoshoots with outside suppliers Coordinate engine product line initiatives with internal and external resources Perform secondary research and present the findings to management in a clear and concise fashion Create internal and external customer presentations using PowerPoint Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Job Skill Requirements Proficient at using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to troubleshoot independently Ability / desire to learn web site programming Must be comfortable in a marketing environment with a proactive, "can-do" attitude Education Requirements Minimum sophomore status working towards a bachelor's degree; preferably with marketing and/or communications coursework Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 Experience Requirements Previous marketing and/or marketing communications internship experience desirable
