ASQ Milwaukee provides a forum to the Milwaukee area to advance the Principals of Quality and Operational Excellence to their Section 1202 membership through learning, networking and exchange of knowledge. Attached you will find their 2015 program schedule and below lists additional information about the events:
Monthly dinner meetings at Alioto’s:
*Students who only want to socialize and listen to the speaker do not need to register and there is no charge.
*Those who would like to have dinner should register online at asqmilwaukee.org. (There is a hot link for upcoming dinner meetings and upcoming events.)
*ASQ Milwaukee offers special student dinner pricing of $10, but students MUST bring a student ID with them to the dinner. (Regular dinner pricing is $30 for non-members and $25 for ASQ members.)
*Unfortunately, ASQ is not offering a discount to alumni at this time. I would encourage recent alumni to consider membership. Here’s a link to some of the benefits and pricing: http://asq.org/membership/why-become-a-member/overview.html
Pre-meeting Roundtable Discussions:
There is no charge to sit in during the table topic discussions that take place prior to the dinner meetings.
The October dinner meeting:
*This is a joint event co-hosted by ASQ, ISM (Institute for Supply Management), APICS (The Association for Operations Management), PMI (Project Management Institute), and AWMI (Association of Women in Metals).
*There is a supplier showcase, dinner, and speaker.
*The cost of this event is $30, and registration is required. There is no special rate for students for this dinner event only. Here’s a link to the event on ASQ Milwaukee’s website: http://www.asqmilwaukee.org/events/building-milwaukee-into-the-silicon-valley-of-water-technology/
May 16-18 World Conference on Quality and Continual Improvement (WCQI 2016):
In order to get better, I like to surround myself with people who know more and are better at quality than I am. All of the key quality people attend this conference-- authors of the books and training materials, and instructors. Last year, there were over 35 countries represented. The Milwaukee Section is hosting the conference this year. The ASQ Milwaukee site will have more info posted in January. Registration is required. The conference is put on by ASQ's global headquarters. Here is their link about the conference, which includes a tab about pricing: http://asq.org/wcqi/
Spring Training Series:
ASQ Milwaukee does a spring training series (QC 100). The workshops vary in topics and levels, and is great for acquiring practical knowledge and real useful tools. This year, the section is offering students a 50% discount. The information for Spring 2016 is not public yet.
