The Rader School of Business, through the Uihlein/Spitzer Chair of Entrepreneurship, is providing "seed" funding for engineering senior design projects. Student teams will be awarded up to $500 to help them acquire the equipment, supplies, of services vital to the implementation of their project. During the 2012-2013 academic year, eleven student teams were awarded funds.
To qualify for the funds, students submit a proposal that covers the entrepreneurial focus of the their project including identification of target market(s), detailing of potential financial and human benefits, and articulation of a value proposition. Application guidelines are available from Professor Emeritus David Tietyen at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications must be received no later than January 31, 2014. The earlier an application is submitted, the more likely it will be funded as the funding is limited to a total of $5,000.
MSOE hosted its annual Career Fair on Oct. 11, the biggest ever with 205 employers. To prepare, students attended pre-fair workshops about LinkedIn, visited with Career Services to perfect their resumes, created accounts in CareerNet, and networked with MSOE alumni. The companies were impressed by the first-class service and, more importantly, by our students. Employers stated that freshman to seniors came prepared to present their professional best and did!
