I couldn't have had a better start to my day! Thanks to the generosity of the MSOE community, we were able to deliver 100 bags of school supplies to students at Milwaukee Math and Science Academy. Thank you MSOE!!!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit our Servant-Leadership Open House this afternoon! The questions that I was asked over and over at this event were: "how can I get involved?" and "how can I join this organization?" For those of you who couldn't attend, let me share the answers to these questions...
If you are part of the MSOE community, the office of Servant-Leadership is here to serve you! We are not an organization. We are a department which is here to support the MSOE community. As Chair, it is my job to educate the MSOE community about servant-leadership and help provide opportunities for students to lead projects that allow them to practice the tenets of servant-leadership as they serve the community here at MSOE, in the Greater Milwaukee Area and around the world. If you are a student, faculty member or staff member and would like to learn more about servant-leadership I am happy to meet with you anytime to chat about how you can get involved (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you would like to stay up-to-date on the work that we are doing, please follow us on the HUB (http://www.msoe.edu/groups/servant-leadership) and our this FaceBook Page(MSOE Servant Leadership | Facebook). If you see a meeting or event posted on these pages that interests you, stop by and get involved - it is that simple! Hope to see you soon!
We need your help to collect school supplies for Milwaukee Math and Science Academy! Stop by the MSOE Bookstore to purchase school supplies for the new K4 classrooms at this MPS Charter school. MSOE students will pack the supplies on Monday, January 19th. Our goal is to collect supplies for one hundred 4-year-olds. These kiddos need crayons, pencils, scissors, markers, paint, and glue - all the basics. The MSOE bookstore has a display to make purchasing your donations convenient and easy - you can spend as little as $0.50 and make a difference! Stop by today and help us reach our goal!!
Monday, January 19th from 10:00 to 2:00 in the CC-Great Room. Stop by in-between classes to participate in service activities brought to you. Pack school supplies for MPS students, write letters to our troops, write on our wall of change, and much more!
Josh Szmergalski and Servant-Leadership at MSOE started an amazing event on campus to help out kids in the surrounding area experience the holiday spirit as well as the opportunities within engineering! We are looking for volunteers for this Saturday, December 13th from 11:30 – 4:30 pm to help with the event. We need individual volunteers as well as org groups so please let us know asap if you are willing and able to help. Dr. Wentz has approved GE hours for volunteers who participate in the engineering related activities at the event so it’s a great way to help others and earn some GE hours at the same time. Please email Josh Szmergalski asap with questions at email@example.com.

I am feeling so thankful for all our students who volunteered at Empty Bowls and Blue Lotus this weekend. Both events were a great success because of the wonderful students who lead these projects and the volunteers who helped them. Way to go MSOE!!
