You can choose an alternate email but once the SSO is worked out, you will need to use your msoe.edu to take advantage of it. I am not sure if faculty are required to use their msoe.edu for their accounts. I'll tag Frederick Berry to see if he knows.
In my profile, I see an option for "MSOE email address." I'll try putting a non-MSOE email address in place of my MSOE one. I just didn't want to mess up my account if it really needed to be an MSOE email address.

At the top of my profile it shows:
I cannot change that email address. Lower in my profile is:
MSOE Email Address
However, under preferences it says:
Notifications will be sent to: email@example.com.
As far as I can tell, I am not able to have my notifications sent to any address other than my official MSOE address.
Christopher Taylor I'm going to pass this along to Fred Wood. This is an IT issue. You are not able to enter a non-msoe email in the msoe email field. We will have to look into how to change the email since you would have registered using your msoe email account. We should be able to figure this out pretty quick.
