    Increasing Cost of Healthcare

Biomedical engineers find themselves right in the middle of the situation described in this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/06/health/even-small-medical-advances-can-mean-big-jumps-in-bills.html.

Improvements in healthcare nearly always come with increased costs. It is difficult, if not impossible, to determine the real value of the improvements or the fairness of costs. I don't have the answer. I'm just pointing out the problem.
