+1 for this problem. My account seems to be categorized as a "standard" user, not an "administrator", so basically Windows doesn't allow me to make any system changes, such as install software or update hardware drivers. Oofda, anybody?
I am also having this problem. Cannot download Google Drive and iTunes, and won't be able to download the necessary applications I will need for my classes this fall. Anyone have any solutions?

You need to go to the IT Help Desk. (3rd Floor of the Science Building) They will change your account to an administrator and it will take only a short time.
